Starting March 10th we will be offering a Professional Standards Training Series. In order to meet the requirement to join the Professional Standards Committee, all 5 courses within the series must be completed.
Course 1(March 10th at 10 a.m.): The System of Enforcement
This course will take you through the inception of the Code of Ethics, a break down of the Code of Ethics and provide an overview of the Professional Standards System.
Course 2 (March 17th at 11 a.m.): CRMLS Rules Overview and Citation Review Requests
This course will go through the most common MLS rule violations, the Clear Cooperation Policy and the Citation Review Request process.
Course 3 (March 24th at 1 p.m.): Grievance Committee Functions
The Grievance Committee determines whether a complaint, on its face, merits a formal Hearing on the matter by a Professional Standards Committee Panel. This course will teach you how to analyze complaints to determine if a due process hearing is warranted.
Course 4 (April 2nd at 10 a.m.): Professional Standards Hearing Panels
The Professional Standards Committee provides Ombudsman services, hears complaints in matters of ethics and conducts mediation and arbitration hearings. This course will take you through the ethics and arbitration hearing processes, hearing panel duties and etiquettes, and how to provide Ombudsman services.
Course 5 (April 7th at 10 a.m.): Board of Director Reviews and the Presiding Officer’s Role
The Board of Directors are the appellate body for the Association’s Professional Standards Program. This course will take you through the Original Presiding Officer’s role in Review Hearings and the appeals process.
